The local MATHCOUNTS chapter competition was held on Thursday, February 6th, at the Napoleon Public School.
Deaghan Benson, James Homola, Chase Martin, Mason Remboldt, Myles Martin, Emmett Nenow, Jacob Seigman, and Chase Zabka represented Gackle-Streeter.
Representing Napoleon were Brooks Grunefelder, Gabby Ketterling, Isaac Woodrow, Brayson Leier, Dawson Erbele, Beau Grunefelder, Bennett Gerhardt, and Trey Rau.
The Logan County top individual Mathletes are Brayson Leier (1st), Dawson Erbele (2nd), Brooks Grunefelder (3rd), and Chase Martin (Honorable Mention). The Logan County winning chapter was the Napoleon team. Dawson Erbele, Isaac Woodrow, Brooks Grunefelder, and Brayson Leier are its members.
Region 8 will be represented at the state competition on March 24th in Bismarck by the top team and individuals from Emmons, Logan, McIntosh, Burleigh, and Kidder.
MATHCOUNTS promotes math excellence and competition for sixth, seventh and eighth-grade students across North Dakota and nationally. This rewarding experience helps promote the engineering profession and education in mathematics, science, and technology. In today’s increasingly technological world and information, student participation in programs that promote teamwork and individual success, such as MATHCOUNTS, are an integral part of their education.
